What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is a type of orthodontic treatment used to treat mild to more serious teeth-straightening issues. An alternative system to fixed braces, Invisalign® is a series of clear, custom made plastic aligners that are a great choice of treatment for teens, adolescents and adults alike. A hugely popular choice of appliance, Invisalign® has treated over 4 million people worldwide, with many patients being attracted to the cosmetic appeal and freedom they offer.

What can I expect from treatment?

We will invite you for an assessment appointment to make sure your teeth and jaw are healthy enough to proceed with treatment. As the aligners are custom-made, we will take impressions and images of your teeth, which will be the basis for the design of your aligners. You will be shown a visual representation of what your teeth could look like post treatment before you embark on your Invisalign® journey.

Your impressions are sent to an Invisalign® lab, where your aligners are created. These are then sent back to the practice. You will need to wear each aligner for 22 hours each day and replace them every 2 weeks. You can do this from the comfort of your own home. You will have regular appointments arranged with your Dentist in order for them to review and monitor your progress.
